Time to catch up with famiglia~happy reading!๐
Steve, Nicole, Ava & Elliot
We’re headed into a new school year with Ava entering kindergarten and Elliot in preschool. Ava’s new school is down the street from us so she’ll walk with her friends. I’m still in shock that we’re at this stage already with such a big kid. Elliot recently turned 3 and we celebrated with an outdoor party at our local nature preserve. Him and Ava both inherited the “Hummel pummel” baseball swing and were pros with the piรฑata.
Steve and I have had a busy summer including a wonderful visit from my parents and running in the Missoula half marathon! I also led WSU’s study abroad trip to Greece. We visited Thessaloniki, Kavala, Delphi, Naxos, Mykonos, and Athens. I missed my little ones while I was away, but I was also busy using my parenting skills to keep 17 students safe while they explored (i.e., partied) in the Greek Islands. Steve’s also been busy fishing and taking in the summer salmon runs. Sending love to all.
Josh, Alisha & Penny
Hello family! Penny is starting kindergarten this year at home! She is excited. We go to our co ops Wednesday and Fridays where she gets to see her friends! She will also be starting cheer this year! Here is Penny with her homeschool friends, Penny and the little girl I nanny one day a week! Here is Penny, Rose and Oliver! And the last photo is family photos we got recently with my in laws!
Miss you all!!!

Winter is winding down here in Lima. It's been a wonderful few months for us. We visited Buenos Aires for a week in July and absolutely fell in love with the city. There's tons of delicious food and amazing wine (both extremely cheap, much more so than Lima). One of our favorite moments was a date night at a tango show in a beautiful theatre (did I mention it included all you can drink wine). We also celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at a great Italian restaurant here in Lima! Finally, and most excitingly, after three years living in Lima we finally had our first visitors from the US...Adams and Evelyn!!! How amazing it has been spending time with them! Adams and I figured out we haven't seen each other since 2014, and this was Raquel and Evelyn's first time meeting each other.
Mario and Jane
Since last we posted Mario had back surgery on April 29 for lumbar stenosis. He is well on the road to recovery and just received the okay from his doctor to start golfing again so he is quite happy. Jane, on the other hand, has spent the summer golfing 2 to 3 times a week and enjoying it. We celebrated our 50th anniversary by returning to where it all started~Ohio University~ and had a great time reminiscing all our old hangouts. We had little Mario up for several days and enjoyed some one-on-one time with him, swimming, golfing and spending time with his Harrison cousins. Jane went on a road trip with Traci, Luke and Harper to visit KY Pavia's and see Braden play in a baseball tournament in Cincinnati. The rest of the summer has been spent enjoying extra warm weather gardening, going to grandkids ball games and swimming in the Harrison's pool for Jane. Mario has been busy with physical therapy, regaining his strength and working at the golf course.
Joe & Corrine
We got home from our world-wide cruise in April. We saw an unbelievable number of sites and cultures. The best is still here in the U.S.
In June we left for a road trip. First stop was in Mesquite, Nevada to visit a lifelong friend, Paul Tomba. I have known Paul since the 5th grade, which is before electricity was invented.
From there we went on to Portland and spent 3 weeks with the Bohlens. We entertained our grandchildren and spoiled them with anything they wanted. We played golf, putt putt went out to dinners and had mayonaise sandwiches.
Next, we went to the CA mountains and met Adams and Evelyn there. After 5 days we headed to LA and spent the rest of July cruising our old stomping grounds with Adams and Evelyn except for our drama while there. Corrine had severe chest pains. Long story short, they caught a heart attack just before it happened (99% blockage in 1 artery). A stint was put in and she is good as new.
We are currently in Rosarito Beach, Mexico. We are enjoying the opportunity to practice our Spanish and enjoying the gentle sea breezes and the incredible food.
We are going to Phoenix mid September.
That's been our last couple of months. We are beginning to wonder why we own a home in Phoenix. We are never there.
Tim & Janet
Tim and Janet are continuing to enjoy retirement. We had a wonderful “glamping” trip with the Hummel family. Swimming, hiking, outdoor cooking and of course a campfire with s’mores. We also enjoy plenty of time with the Kuhn grandchildren. Sunshine and love to all.

Pete, Jessica, JR, Margot, Lewis & Vince
This summer we moved our family and our business out of TN and decided to settle into the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We fell in love with (an almost) 100 year old house and are slowly making it feel like home. Our youngest just turned 7 months and we love having two little ones at home, and two at school during the week. Western North Carolina has been an answered prayer and we are looking forward to many family adventures and visitors!
Bobby, Jacque, Connor & Gigi
The Bohlen Family had a busy summer. Mom and Dad came to visit for several weeks and we enjoyed a lot of wonderful family time! Bobby rode his bike from Seattle to Portland, and we took a family trip to Maine before Jacque attended her second year at Pacific Coast Banking School for two weeks onsite at the University of Washington. Sending love to everyone!!

Shiggy & Janice
From the Kentucky Derby party at the lake house in May to gardening, grandkids and gorgeous weather this year…it’s been a fun summer, but of course is going by too fast…
The first week of June was in Florida for a Zweigart family wedding along with 100 degree weather…
Many weekends are spent at the lake house enjoying the view and relaxing. We often see a local eagle who likes to sit on a fallen tree in the middle of the bay- pic included.
Love to my famiglia,
Janice and Shiggy

Brian, Traci, Braden, Luke & Harper
Harrison’s enjoyed a busy summer of baseball and softball. Vacationed in Ocean City,Maryland in June where Luke also played a little baseball while we were there. Harper and her girls won a whiffle ball tournament in July. We enjoyed Aunt Janice’s lake house and the Cedar Point water park with the Kentucky Pavias in early August. School started last week. Braden is in 10th grade, Luke 7th and Harper 5th. Fall brings football for Braden, volleyball for Harper and fall baseball/softball for Luke and Harper. Luke also hopes to continue golfing once a week with Nana.
Mike, Christie, Mario & Davis
The Kentucky Pavia's made the most out of our summer! We spent our days at the pool, Kings Island, fishing, going to ball games, golfing, camps and playing lots of baseball. We managed a trip to Hocking Hills, Lake Norris and Lake Erie to visit Cedar Point (thank you Aunt Janice and Uncle Shiggy for your hospitality). We are back in the school groove with the boys starting fourth and fifth grade. This fall the boys will be on the same golf and baseball team and then Davis adds soccer and Mario adds flag football. We are most thankful that we got to spend so much time this summer with family! Great visit from the Harrisons so Davis and Harper could do volleyball camp together at University of Cincinnati! We pray that everyone is doing well and thankful for the abundant gifts our God provides us!!!!! Love you all.....
