Happy Spring to Everyone, enjoy catching up on the Famigliaπ
The Zweigart's
With five months since our last blog a lot has transpired:
-A new addition to our growing famiglia, Oliver Reust, grandchild #7 was born November 14th (a day after Vanessa’s birthday)!!
I am grateful to have experienced Oliver’s birth close and upfront as the photographer and doula all wrapped into one!!! Thanks Vanessa!
-Italian Christmas biscottis were baked with only four of us, we (Jane and Janice) refuse to give up the beloved tradition, so we have resorted to ‘USING’ our grandchildren Harper and Penelope to humor us!
-Christmas came and went with way too many presents and too much fun and games…
-Vince DeMaster #8 grandchild born on 1/25 - right on Jessica’s birthday!! Three weeks in TN went way too fast in my book, but I think a fun time was had by all!!
-Currently the Chimera sisters are playing (competing) in the world of sourdough bread…oh my what has this world come to~sharing pics of loaves of sourdough with each other instead of grand kid pictures….oops BOULE is the proper term I’m told by the youngest sister!!!
LOVE to all famiglia
Janice & Shiggy
We welcomed our 4th child into the world and he decided to surprise us all and come the morning of my birthday, what a gift from God! Everyone is adjusting as we settle into life as a family of six.
The Ruest's
We added a new addition to the family, Oliver Drake, born the day after Vanessa’s birthday! Life with a newborn and a third child has been anything but boring. Lots of snuggles, sleepless nights, and down time. Jan, Alisha and Vanessa did their annual cooking baking day in December and Alisha won with the best recipes! Vanessa took the torch from CJ on doing the table centerpiece for Christmas, as you can see in the pic below she nailed it! We celebrated Alisha’s 32nd birthday in January, lots of Mexican and of course ice cream! Judah celebrated his 4th birthday in February, Jan and Vanessa outdid themselves on the pirate cake. And of course we were so excited to invite cousin Vinny (aka Vince!) into the family in January!
The Gaus's
Hello family!
Thanksgiving dinner included teaching the boys about the headless turkey cookie tradition. Michelle and Janet transformed her house into a tea parlor for Tina’s 5th birthday. We were honored to be VIP guest at the Blue Angel air show. We escorted Timmy and Tony to front row seats to observe a display of “dare devil” talented pilots.
We attended grandparents workout day at the gym with Michelle as out fitness instructor. We had a fun sleepover and taught the Kuhn children how to make authentic Italian pasta. Love and sunshine to all.
We have had an eventful spring. The boys started playing baseball and we got to visit the UCF Knights for their Spring Baseball camp. They still love talking about playing baseball with their Ohio cousins. We have had some fun beach trips. Donny and I got to attend a wedding and the kids had a sleepover with Nana & Papa.
It’s strawberry season in Florida!!
We hope everyone is having a fun Spring Break!!
Love y’all,
Donny, Michelle, Timmy, Tony, and Tina
Hello All,
Hope everyone is fine and getting through winter.
We had a very nice Christmas. Adams came to town for a few days which involved out to dinners and golf. On Christmas day we spent time with Connor and Gigi on Zoom opening gifts and having a lot of laughs. Wish we could have been there live.
We are currently somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean headed to Brazil on an around the world cruise. We left New York on January 5 and return to New York on April 3. We have visited more places than we can mention.
Most notables to this point:
Madagascar-they don’t wear shoes.
Cape Town-LA without the traffic
Jamestown, St. Helena-most remote place on earth. No land near this island for 1200 miles
A few pics are attached. The last pic without a title is a vendor selling tuna on the streets of Cape Verde.
We are having a phenomenal time.
Take care everyone; It’s almost spring!
Joe & Corrine
P.S. This is an Italian ship and the chef is Italian. They have the best pizza outside of Naples, Italy. Wonderful!
The Bohlens had a lovely holiday season. We took a family trip to Disneyland and Bobby’s sister and nephew were with us for Christmas. It’s been a busy start to 2024 with Jacque working too much (again, sigh) and Bobby corralling active kids. We are waiting for some sunshine here in Portland. Sending love to everyone!
Three of the Harrison’s spent Christmas in FL like normal. Braden and I stayed home as he was recovering from knee surgery. We enjoyed a lot of quality time with nana and papa. Basketball season is winding down for Luke. Surprisingly no other Harrison played winter sports this year. We’ve had a little snow in Cleveland but Harper is the only one that still likes to play in it. The boys, however, have gotten better at shoveling the driveway, if I pay them.
Young Pavia's
It's been an eventful summer (*southern hemisphere) for the Young Pavias. Raquel had her summer vacation from work/school for two months. She visited her family in the Philippines for the first time since 2019!!! She had an amazing trip that included: time with her sister and brother-in-law in Manila, time at her childhood home in her province, a girls' trip with her mom and sister to a beautiful island destination in the Philippines called Bohol, and maybe most importantly she met her nephew Mavine for the first time! While she was away, Matt and Shadow did nothing except miss her.
Mario and I had a wonderful holiday season spending Christmas Eve with Janice, Shiggy, Traci and Braden and Christmas Day with Mamanonne, Traci and Braden, then a visit from Mike, Christie, Mario and Davis the first weekend of January closed out our holidays with a 95th birthday party for Mario's Mom. February and March we have been enjoying winter nights with a fire and many good movies, a few plays and time with the Harrison's. Looking forward to spring and starting up with golf, gardening and sunshine. We're headed to our condo for a week of relaxation and some quality time with Matt visiting from Peru.
