Summertime (Part 2)

Shiggy and I (Janice) had an amazing visit with our daughters in August. We were thrilled to meet Mr. Pete DeMaster ( Jessica's BF). They were all in Cleveland for a long weekend. He is a great guy, especially since he could hold his own with this motley crew!!!
Shig and I also spent Labor Day weekend in Virginia Beach at the American Musical Festival. Great food and free music on the beach daily!!
James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Janice...

Virginia Beach at the American Music Festival

Jess: Family introductions with Pete last month couldn't have gone any better! Believe it or not he loved my dad and the rest of the family. Grandma Betty approves!!
I'm on the hunt...Job searching this month..... Ready to get away from the old people...possibly looking for a career change. Looking forward to what opportunities are in LA. Looking forward to the holiday season with my man!

The Reusts: It has been a HOT summer in Seattle! 90 degree weather and no air conditioning has definitely got us welcoming the Fall weather with open arms! We have had a lot of fun this summer with paint classes, summer concerts, hiking and of course our visit back to Ohio in August to finally meet Pete. (If you don't know who Pete is by now, get a clue!) This may very well be our last summer in the beautiful Northwest before we move back to Ohio, so we are squeezing every last drop of adventure out! We are excited for the coming months with a trip to Vegas in September for Vanessa's work and a trip to San Diego for Thanksgiving with Jessica and Pete.

I (Alisha) am still at the same job but now I am in charge of the visual aspect of the store! I like it but am starting to look for new opportunity! I am still in the same apartment since I didn't add pictures last time I'll add some now! I have almost all of Nana's furniture.  It's nice--reminds me of her! I also have a cat now! I know Nana would be rolling over in her grave if she knew a cat was on her stuff haha but thats why I have the blanket there! Her name is Bemo if any of you are familiar with the cartoon called Adventure Time that is what her name is from! Miss u all!

Tim and I (Janet) took a bike trip to Presque Isle. We achieved our goal of riding 100 miles, and slept under the stars on the beach to the sound of waves. It was a fun challenging trip.
I am currently trying my best for "real this time " to give up coffee. Yes, I am addicted to that dark strong caffeine jolt before bike riding. I am 18 days coffee free and still getting in great bike rides.
Planning a trip to Florida in October to see Timmy (Donny and Michelle too.)

Kuhn Family Update: We have been busy with Michelle returning to work. She is teaching 9th grade English at East Ridge High School and enjoying being back in the classroom. Go Knights!
Donny is enjoying the return of football! Who Dey!
Timmy is a toddler!! And a born Italian. He loves to help in the kitchen. And his favorite foods are pasta and mozzarella cheese.
Lots of love,
Donald, Michelle and Timmy

(Timmy loves your pan aunt Jane!!)

Timmy turned one on 8/6/15 and enjoyed his cake!!

Happy first birthday Tim!!

August was a busy month for Steve and Nicole. They went on a 4-day backpacking trip through the North Cascades. They also moved across the border to Idaho (which is only a 10 minute drive to work in Washington).
Nicole went home to Ohio for a wedding and had a wonderful dinner with her parents and Matt and Raquel. She also spent a day at the metro parks with her mom and aunt Jane!

New address:
Nicole and Steve Hummel
672 Shoshone Street
Moscow, ID 83843

Joe and Corrine: Nothing happening in the desert this month. No pics. Just trying to stay cool.

The Bohlens had an eventful start to August, but we're doing much better now as we've been in a rental for about a month, we picked a builder after interviewing several candidates, and we picked up our new puppy Olly (short for Olympic, keeping up our tradition of naming our pets after National Parks)!  He's another German Shepherd like his sister Cady (yes, they come in black), and they are fast friends :)  Our little man was just shy of 14 weeks at the vet yesterday, and he was 29.2 pounds!

Adams: Been a crazy month with my new job. It's a bit stressful, but I'm starting to hit my stride with it so I'm starting to enjoy more! Right now I'm on the road about 3-4 days per week, but I'm hoping that will calm down in the next 6 months. Attached a few pics of my trip to Panamá. Amazing trip!

Mario and Jane update:  Our trip to the Philippines was fabulous! Flight was long, but we survived, spent LOTS of quality time with Mike (he shared a room with his parents!) and were so happy to be able to be part of Matt and Raquel's wedding day~she was a radiant bride and he was a happy groom~just beautiful!!
We had a wonderful summer of travel and are now happy to be back home and continuing to work on our new home. Mario and Mike laid a tile floor in our screened in porch and we finally got our grass planted TODAY (Sept 17). We were thrilled to have the whole Pavia family together after the newlyweds made it back to the US~we had a cookout at Traci and Brian's. We've been enjoying our beautiful late summer weather going to Braden's baseball games and Jane has been bike riding. We are starting to gear up for another Brown's season and headed to the home opener this Sunday--maybe this is the year!!!

The Harrisons: School has started for most of us (everyone but Harper!) Braden's in first grade and Luke is in 4 year old preschool. The kids are back on campus so Brian's busy with baseball. He was asked to speak at the national baseball coaches' convention in January and was recently interviewed on a podcast (topcoachpodcast.com).

The Kentucky Pavia's have settled down after a whirlwind summer of travel and fun. Mario started gymnastics and absolutely loves it. He gallops around and jumps like a crazy kid on the trampoline. Davis is in swim babies and loves being in the water.....he is used to his brother dumping water in his face every night in the bathtub! The boys are now 2 and 10 months old and growing like crazy.....our grocery bill is already higher and we never have left overs! Davis looks like a chunky beaver because he has two teeth on the top and two on the bottom.
Mike has been enjoying his golf league, Browns and Ohio State football and kicking butt at work. Christie has been enjoying her work, started a new bible study group and chasing the kids around. Exciting news for us is that we'll become landlords by the middle of October!!!!! We purchased a rental property along the Kentucky riverfront and I'm sure it will be a fun adventure for our family.
Miss you all and hope you are having a blessed fall season!

The Newlyweds: We're settling into life in Ohio and have been searching for jobs and apartments. Matt is going to start work at Hyland Software in October, and we found a nice apartment in Westlake where we'll be moving on October 1st. Raquel has some offers for child care jobs from friends and family, and she is researching master's programs to potentially go back to school next semester and pursue a master's in special ed. Last weekend we toured downtown Cleveland and visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, acting like tourists in our own city :) Raquel got her temporary license and is learning how to drive! Oh, and we are also now OFFICIALLY married in the U.S. after going to the courthouse and getting all the paperwork completed by the judge!
