Summer 2022

The Young Pavias
The Young Pavias had an eventful spring. Matt had to travel back to Ohio to work on gathering documents to sort out some visa issues in Peru. He's applying for his residency card, which Raquel already obtained with the help of her school. We were apart for six weeks :-( We missed each other very much, but Raquel had Shadow to keep her company. She also went on a beach vacation with some of her friends/colleagues. In the meantime, Matt was spending quality time with Mom and Dad and the Harrisons, and even a weekend visit from the KY Pavias. Mom was thrilled to have all three of her kids together. Raquel and her family have tons of good news to share. Her brother Malvin and his partner had a baby boy!!! He's adorable and is Raquel's first nephew/niece on her side of the family. She's ecstatic to be a "tia" (aunt in Filipino). Her other brother Efraim is getting married on July 15th!!! He and his soon to be wife live in Vancouver, Canada, and we are traveling to be at the wedding. Which brings us to our epic summer trip that we are about to embark on. We are flying to Seattle and renting an RV. We'll explore a WA state park for just a day, and then driving up north across the border into Canada. There we're planning to attend the wedding of course, and also to explore Vancouver and some of the surrounding parks/trails/etc. Finally, we're flying to Cleveland after the wedding and going to spend a week with Mom and Dad before heading back to Peru. It's going to be a whirlwind, but tons of fun, and we couldn't be more excited about Efraim's wedding! Hope everyone has an amazing summer!

Mario & Jane
Mario and Jane are in the swing of summer! We’re both golfing on different leagues, seeing the grandkids baseball games, growing a garden, strawberry picking and just enjoying the sunshine and longer days. Mario is working as a starter at a golf course (a retirement goal he always had). Jane traveled to Iowa with Traci and kids to see Brian and his BW team play in the college works series, so proud of his accomplishments this season! Took a side trip to Field of Dreams. This week a visit from the Kuhn’s brought an impromptu get together with Jane, Janice, Traci, Michelle, Vanessa, Alisha, Donny, Elijah and lots of kids! Let’s get a Chimera Gathering planned for next year!

The Harrison Family
Summer means baseball, baseball, softball and lots of sunshine and fun for the Harrisons.

Adams & Evelyn
I can't believe half of the year has come and gone - time sure does fly by.
Adams & I traveled to Mexico City for my birthday in late May. The food gods were definitely on our side. We ended up going to 2 of the restaurants that usually ask for 30+ days advance reservations by walk-in (total luck b/c someone had just canceled)! We were able to enjoy some crushed ant as a topping to a delicious mole.
And in mid-June, we were in Chicago hosting the very first ever Root'd booth at a tradeshow. Adams was able to close Fresh Thyme at the show so please expect to see it in your local OH stores sometime in October!
Stay safe & hydrated this summer, everyone!

Joe & Corrine
The second quarter started with a visit from Connor and Gigi in April. They brought their mommy and daddy with them. We went to an amusement park, went swimming, had dinner at a great Mexican restaurant, had a cookout and played games. But the 4-day week-end just went by too fast.
In May we packed our bags for Europe. We have a 2-bedroom, 2 bath house in Scotland and are spending the summer here. We use this as our home base and travel around from here. Tomorrow, the 12, we are leaving for the Open at St. Andrews. We are in a hospitality tent just off the16 green. The tent has an all-day buffet with an open bar, individual tables and chairs, closed circuit TV’s and private facilities. What more could you want.
There is a Pic of Corrine in front of the Elephant House. This is where J K Rowling wrote most of the tale of Harry Potter.
At the end of summer we are taking a cruise through the Baltic, Scandinavia and the British Isles. When summer is over we will have been to every country in the region. Translation, we are not coming back. It’s is too far! And although sounds romantic, Europe can be very inconvenient and if you have been here you know what we mean.
Hope everyone is having a great summer enjoying pools, baseball and picnics. We hope to see you soon.
Joe & Corrine

The Bohlen Family
The Bohlens have been making up for two-plus years at home by traveling quite a bit. We visited Mima & Nanu in Phoenix in April, Nana & "D" and many other people in Bobby's family in Rhode Island / Mass in May, and we took a family trip to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks in Utah for Father's Day. We also celebrated Connor's and Gigi's birthdays and one of Jacque's dear friends who is FINALLY going to be a mom (Pier for anyone who remembers her from our wedding). Tack on more accounting classes, four work conferences, and the kids' activities, and sleep is a coveted commodity here, but we slip it in where we can :) We are looking forward to visiting the DeMasters and Bobby's brother later this summer. We plan to make it to Cleveland next summer!

The DeMaster Family
July is rolling by in the TN hills! We are enjoying the hectic days of summer fun over here. We recently came back from a much needed vacation to Charleston, it was great to see friends, and explore the places we miss. Getting ready for a trip to Ohio at the end of the month to visit Nana and Paw Paw’s new house and hopefully anyone else who is in town. Wishing everyone long summer nights and cold drinks!

The Gaus Family
Hi family! Miss you all!! We are enjoying all things summer and making new friends! Penny is in a once a week playground and she loves it! Spending time with family and seeing our cousins for the first time she was so excited!!!

The Reust Family
We have had a fun, warm summer so far! We took our first family vacation of 4 to the Outerbanks in May and had a nice time bike riding, going to the beach, and going on a dolphin watch, enjoying some much needed family time. In June, we enjoyed going to the pool, going strawberry picking and many many walks in the neighborhood. Elijah and Judah have been working hard in the yard all summer long, adding stones, finishing up our waterfall plants, and putting in a playground for the kids. Then in July, Michelle and Donny came to visit and Traci was gracious enough to host all of us. It was so nice to catch up and see everyone after it being 2 years, way too long! The DeMaster clan also came up in July and we had a wonderful weekend together, going to the park, swimming at Jan/CJ's pool and hosting everyone at our house for a bbq. The cousins got along great and it was a fun time had by all. Looking forward to a couple of concerts Elijah and I have coming up this month and just enjoying the warm weather and some extra days off of work!

Janice & Shiggy
Summer arrived and it’s been a beauty!!
The DeMaster’s visited Cleveland in July and it was wonderful to have all 6 grand kids together again…they always seem to pick up where they left off- it’s pretty special to watch!!!!
We are trying to get some grass or maybe SOD (fingers crossed) at the new house and starting to put in some beds. We’ve got a long way to go, slowly but surely!
Hope everyone is enjoying the longer nights, cooler drinks and louder music of summer time❤️
Love to all,
Janice and Shiggy

Janet & Tim
We enjoyed the Easter eggstravaganza at the clubhouse with the Kuhn family. There were activities for children, parents and grandparents playing on the same team. We attended our first Derby party complete with fascinators and mint juleps. We rode our bikes in the July 4th golf cart parade. We also used our boating skills to earn first place in the annual pool regatta races. We won $50 gift card for the Grille, but more important, bragging rights for the year. Sunshine and love to all. Xoxo

The Hummel Family
It’s been an eventful summer for the Hummel family. We bought a new house! Please update your address book:

Nicole & Steve
1720 NW Bella Vista Drive
Pullman, WA 99163

We also bought a camper. We’re excited to camp in luxury with the kids this summer. Our recent move has been a bit chaotic, but I took a lovely work trip to Paris and Barcelona in May. It was great to travel without the kiddos in tow and relax for a couple of days. Next up is Elliot’s first birthday, and hopefully a trip to Florida in August!

The Kuhn Family
Hello Family!!
We have been enjoying a fun summer. Lots of pool and beach time. The boys played basketball and Tina starts dance this month. We even made a quick trip home to see family in Ohio. We loved visiting and missed seeing Jessica by two days. Michelle started a new job and the trip was not as long as we would have liked.
We hope everyone has a great start to a new school year!!

Love,
Donny, Michelle, Tim, Tony, & Tina
