Summer 2017

Joe & Corrine:  We are sure you are aware that Corrine and I became grandparents in the second quarter. We visited him for a week in early June. I am sure Jacque and Bobby will include many pics of Connor in their blog.
This quarter took us to South America. We spent some time in NYC then flew to Santiago, Chile. Spent a few days there then off to the port city of Valparaiso where we caught a 3 week cruise up the pacific coast to San Francisco. Being at sea for 3 weeks was a delight. We want to go longer next time. Saw more countries than we can remember. Our favorite was Costa Rica. They have a fascinating culture. As a society they hold themselves accountable. We found Costa Ricans to be very structured, organized and disciplined. In their country if you do not work you do not eat. They have no welfare and zero unemployment. Nicaragua was the worst place we visited. It's a mud hole. They have not recovered from their civil war. A couple of things about the southern hemisphere, the sun travels East to West in the northern sky not southern and the water goes down the drain in a counter clockwise motion not a clockwise motion like here. The pic of the ocean is the equator. Crossing the equator is a big toga celebration for first time crossers (as you can see from the last 2 pics). It was not our first time so we captured this one on film. Enjoy the summer everyone.

The Bohlens have been busy moving and having a BABY.  Connor Robert Bohlen was born on May 23rd, and we moved on June 3rd.  Connor has been eating like a champ and has now acquired some delightful "puffy pillow cheeks" after initially losing some weight that required some extra appointments.  We are also ecstatic to report that the dogs are very much in love with their new baby, whom they watch over constantly.  The house has been a work in progress as it wasn't finished when we moved in, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel as things are FINALLY winding down (at least inside...).  We've had a lot of visitors since Connor's birth, Jacque went back to work on July 10th (for four weeks), and the three of us are traveling to the East Coast for a work conference for Jacque on July 31st, after which we'll visit Bobby's family in Rhode Island and then go to Maine for a few days.  Jacque is hoping for some quiet time in late August when we get back as she finishes up part 2 of her maternity leave before going back to work again after Labor Day.  Much love to everyone, and we look forward to introducing Connor to those of you that will be in Cleveland for Thanksgiving!!

Adams: Hey family!
It's been a good start of the year down here in southern California! We had the winter of the decade, something like 400" of snow fell in our mountains, so Eve and I took advantage almost every weekend. We got to a lot of good mountains. It's been super fun!
Also, got to see Jess a bunch of times lately!
Work is going really well, and still on the road quite a bit. Unfortunately no trips to Cleveland, but Cincinnati is becoming more normal :). I just moved into a new place in Newport (solo), and am finally getting settled. There is a decent chance I'm moving to Florida for a promotion, so we'll see how that goes. (brand called neocell...so let me know if you want samples!).
Starting to get into summer mode and trying to spend as much time in the ocean as possible...still need to learn to surf better, so hopefully will accomplish that this summer.
Other than, come visit!!!
Love you!
Adams

Jane & Mario: Summer is in full swing for us! Warm weather brings yard work and those seeds I started in the spring are actually growing! Mario dug up a patch and made a small garden for me to tend with tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and eggplants. I went to our condo with Traci and the kids for a week and had lots of fun jumping waves in the ocean and enjoying time with them. Mario and I will spend some time at our condo with mario and Davis in August. Mario is getting some good golf time in and I'm enjoying weekly bike rides in Metroparks. I will teach my first college class in late July and the rest of the summer will fly by hopefully with more outdoor fun🌞

The Harrisons have been keeping busy this summer. Traci kicked off the summer with a trip to Columbus with her teacher friends. We then headed down to North Carolina with Nana and Brian met us there a week later. Spending two weeks at the beach was wonderful! Now we're back at home and settling in...going to ball games, golf lessons, basketball camp and ninja training.

The Kentucky Pavia's are in the middle of a fun summer. We have been enjoying family time at the pool, park, fishing ponds, hiking, splash parks and our backyard. The boys are growing so fast and eating everything in sight!!!!! We both coached Mario in his first baseball season. It was a joy to coach eleven 3 -5 year old boys and of course Davis got in on the action. The season wrapped up a few weeks ago and now we look forward to either fall soccer or music lessons. Work for both of us is busy but good. We pray everyone in the family is happy and healthy.....love you all!

The Young Pavias:  We have been enjoying summertime here in CLE. We missed biking and running outside during winter so we are now making up for the lost time!
Also, we have spent a week in North Carolina for our summer getaway. We enjoyed every single minute of it! The sun, the heat, the humidity, the sand and the sea, we all soaked it in. We ran a lot on the beach, we ate seafood and BBQ, met up with family in North Myrtle Beach, spent an afternoon at the vineyard, explored the farmers' market and ate italian ice by the beach almost everyday. Oh did I mention, we watched the fireworks from the pier too on the eve of July 4th.
Now, we will be devoting the rest of the summer training for our mini duathlon (3 mile run-12 mile bike-3 mile run) on August 6. It will be at Huntington Beach in Bay Village. Supporters are welcome to cheer for us. Matt and I will be also running our first half marathon TOGETHER on Sept. 10th. In between training, we will be found on the water paddleboarding 'cause we officially are paddleboard owners.
We ❤ summer. Tropic like it's hot!

Janice & Shiggy: In May our double baby shower went off without any glitches, aside from two very tired pregnant sisters by the end of the day.
The Fourth of July was spent in New Jersey with friends, seeing the Smithereens at the iconic Wonder Bar in Asbury Park.
The remainder of the summer is a waiting game, hoping that both babies are born far enough apart so that Nonna (janice) can get to SD to meet baby DeMaster and get back in time for baby Reust birth. ❤️

The DeMasters: 8 Months and Nesting!!! This is no joke folks. 2 months ago I was day dreaming of summer vacations and baby-moons and these are NO where in sight. We are knee deep in remodeling the new house, planning for the epic home birth, and working full time still! Keepin' it real I guess; fingers crossed the old house sells sooner then later. Baby is coming in 7 weeks and the new house should be ready in 4 weeks! What can I say, we like to live on the edge. Timing is everything these days. My new beat friend, Julio (aka our contractor) secretly wishes i would forget where my phone is all day. It was a nice treat to have some cousins in town for a quick weekend trip last month. We hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

The Reusts have been busy preparing for the new addition to our family, Elijah has been working hard on getting the nursery together, while Vanessa is getting bigger by the day and more useless! Elijah and CJ put in a sprinkler system to prepare for the lawn, and Pete, CJ and Elijah worked hard on the front yard landscpaing while the girls had their dual baby shower. Janice did an amazing job hosting! Vanessa had a work trip to Seattle in June which we made into a mini vacation, hiking and eating at all of our favorite spots.

Alisha: Hello family!!! Josh and i moved in together and its been great! I love our new place! Its so cozy! Iv posted some pictures below! We made an album wall with some of our favorite bands and singers!!! Cats are getting along great! I still hate my job but am trying to stick it out for a year! Cant wait to be an aunt!!!!!!!

Love you all and miss you!!!!

Tim and Janet enjoyed a wonderful visit with Michelle and our precious grandsons. We were very busy and of course time passed too quickly, but we will be meeting the Kuhn family for a beach vacation late July.
The weather is beautiful so we are riding our bikes frequently. Janet recently broke the speed limit. Clocking in at 28.9 mph. Don't worry, I did not get a ticket, no park rangers in sight, but I think I went airborne. LOL.
We also took a bike trip to Chautauqua. For all of you chimeras who recall our family adventure the water is much improved from the "rotten egg" experience and the amphitheater where we participated in a 2 hour outdoor prayer service is still present.
We also enjoyed a beach concert with Pavia's and Zweigart's, always fun, laughter and plenty of cold beverages when we gather.

The Kuhn's have been relaxing this summer. We have been cheering on our soccer team, Orlando City!! And spending lots of time swimming.
I attended a 3 day workshop on exploring colonial St Augustine. I roomed with my best friend and we had a blast studying historical Florida!!
While I was away, the boys had a man weekend filled with wrestling competitions, milk drinking games, and pizza parties.
We are looking forward to family time with Nana and Papa in Calabash (thank you Aunt Jane & Uncle Mario) at the end of July.
Love and miss everyone

4th of July Family Fun!

Forever Young in St. Augustine!! Except we didn't drink the water because it smelled very similar to Chautauqua Lake Water
Timmy playing Disc Golf
Brother Bears

Nicole & Steve: Nicole spent quality cousin time with Jessica, Adams, and significant others in San Diego last month. Also, Steve and Nicole were excited to host visitors (sister-in-law) and road trip to Banff. Yes, the brewery picture of Steve and I was taken in front of outhouses on the 4th of July ('Merica)!
