Holidays 2016

Tim and Janet started their holiday season by hosting Thanksgiving dinner. Weather did not cooperate on thanksgiving day, but we were able to do our annual thanksgiving bike ride on Friday. The chimera Italian cookie bake was another huge success, meaning we survived the confusion and managed to get the recipe mixed correctly. If you have been to a cookie bake you know what I mean.
Janet spent two weeks in early December in sunny Florida helping the Kuhn family welcome Anthony Joseph and enjoyed play days with Timmy.
We were blessed to have our whole family together at "home" for Christmas. It was a delight to share Christmas morning with our grandsons. We were also able to introduce Timmy to Cleveland snow time fun. Janet and Nicole enjoyed some mommy /daughter time shopping, lunch and going to the movies.
We are back to our quiet routine and Janet is enjoying quilting and crafting since bike riding is not an option till spring thaw.

The Kuhn's enjoyed an eventful holiday season. Anthony Joseph Kuhn was born December 1, 2016 at 12:41 PM. He weighed 9 lbs 4 oz and 22 inches long.
We are loving being a family of four.
We enjoyed seeing everyone over the holidays and had a wonderful Christmas in Ohio.
Timmy loves being a big brother and is always willing to help with brother Tony.
Love and miss everyone

The Hummels:  Steve and I spent the holidays in Ohio with our amazing, wonderful, and beautiful family. We've also started skiing again and spent our MLK weekend at Schweitzer Mountain. Steve and I celebrated 12 years together on our trip (we met sled riding so we thought skiing would be an appropriate celebration)!! Love to all, The Hummels

Joe & Corrine:  Corrine and I took a cruise between Thanksgiving and Christmas (it's the best time to cruise because nobody wants to and the prices are give-away).
Our point of origin was New York City. The cruise was 2 weeks to the Eastern Caribbean. The islands look pretty much similar but they each have their own culture. Our favorite islands were St. Kitts, Tortola and St. Marteen. After the cruise we spent a week in NYC doing the theater, little Italy for several meals and Peter Lugar's (rated the #1 steak house in America) I would debate that point. For Christmas Adams came to Phoenix, we played some golf and skyped with Jacque and Bobby Christmas morning.
Apart from that, nothing new. Going to Puerto Vallarta in February for 2 weeks. Will write about that in the next blog. Take care all.

The Bohlens have been spending a lot of time indoors as we acclimate to this thing called "winter" that happens in Portland.  We've managed to get out a little bit and toured Bob's Red Mill Factory (a must whenever any bakers come to visit!) and had a fun day at the zoo (we finally made it to the anaconda feeding!).  Bobby has been keeping up with his woodworking classes and watching youtube videos as he plans to build a crib, bassinet, and changing table for the baby, and Jacque has been working on a lot of sewing projects (pictures to come when they are complete).  The dogs have been loving the snow we've been getting (got about a foot overnight this past week; our third storm of the season).  I've been getting a lot of requests for bump photos, and I promise I'll include one in the next blog when I'm more "human baby" and less "food baby" :)
Also - Bobby has decided not to shave until the baby comes (June), and though we missed the first few months of documentation, you can all watch it grow.  Fully teased out, his beard now measures about two inches.  Woodworking and a bushy beard - someone has embraced the Portland life...
Much love to everyone!!

Adams spent Christmas in Phoenix with his parents and New Year's in Mammoth with his girlfriend, Evelyn.

Mario and Jane:  The highlight since our last blog was DEFINITELY our trip to Sicily and the Amalfi Coast. We had a fabulous trip with Zweigart's and Lazzaro's, saw many off-the-beaten-path places traveling around Sicily, were amazed at the beauty of the Amalfi Coast, and truly enjoyed seeing Mario's birthplace (Faeto) and getting to meet and spend time with two of his first cousins he had never met before this visit. They were most gracious serving us a dinner that we lost count of the courses, showing us around the town and sending us off with some homemade cheese to bring back to the states.
Thanksgiving and Christmas were all about family time. Chimera sisters each hosted a holiday and fun was had at all of them. The new year is finding us hibernating with REALLY cold days, so we are going to tackle a few remaining projects around our house like finally unpacking the remaining boxes in the basement, organizing my recipes and pictures (that's been on my "to do" list since I retired!) and looking forward to spring!

The Harrison's spent Christmas in FL, which was amazing! The trip home...not so much. As soon as we landed in CLE, we went directly to the ER and found out that Braden's appendix ruptured. He had surgery the next day and spent the next 5 days in the hospital. He's feeling much better now and gearing up for basketball. Luke continues to do ninja training class and is getting so strong! Harper loves her weekly gymnastics class and is learning so much. We are officially half way through the school year...yeah! Brian starts baseball practice in a couple weeks. Go yellow jackets!!

The Kentucky Pavia's enjoyed a crazy but amazing holiday season. The boys (Mario 3 and Davis 2) really got into Santa this year and loved opening presents! Mario is loving school and Davis gets to have special time with mommy a few days a week. The boys are both taking swim lessons and Mario will soon start music lessons. Mike has taken on a new role at work which will take him to Chicago frequently. He is enjoying the new challenge! We just wrapped up renovations on a rental property so Christie is busy trying to get it occupied. Overall we are thankful for our health, family and friends. Looking forward to another fun, blessed year!

The Young Pavias:  Just before the holidays, Matt and I went to my first Browns Game. The weather was perfect, it was 70 and sunny but they still lost. Shocker. Thanksgiving with family was always fun. Right after that, we put up our Christmas tree and all sorts of Christmas Dinners and Parties rolled in. On Christmas Day, we watched the Cavs play against the Warriors at the Q with Mike and Christie. And I am pretty sure that was the highlight of our Christmas Season. We both are thankful for all the blessings and presents we received this year and now we are looking forward to our 2 week trip to the Philippines in February.

Janice & Shiggy:  Who doesn't LOVE to be surrounded by family at Christmas time? It has been three years since the zweigart's have all been home for Christmas...and it was WONDEFFUL!!

Our Sicily/Italy trip was BELLA!!!
We fell in love with the region, it is simple breathtaking!! The food (needless to say) was amazing but the WINE was even better!! My only wish is that all of you get to experience your heritage like we did!! Arrivederci!

The DeMasters:  S*** is about to get REAL! (can we swear on the family blog) Pete and I are getting the house ready for baby!!!! I'm adjusting to growing a human #pregancyisnteasy Life is good though. Work is busy for both of us, I love working at UC San Diego, I fee like there is some special holiday every month and I seem to have more three day weekends than 5 day work weeks. High education is where it's at for employment! Had a wonderful trip to Ohio nothing beats going home for Christmas... nothing! Hoping everyone is sticking to their New Years resolutions! Love you all! Jess & Pete

The Reusts:  We have been busy enjoying the new house and shopping, shopping, shopping. We have had a blast decorating and picking out blinds, new bedding and some new furniture and we finally feel settled.
Elijah surprised Vanessa for her 30th birthday with a trip to Mackinac Island in Michigan for a Murder Mystery Weekend and we had a blast figuring out who did it and enjoying dancing, good food and new friends! Jess & Pete were in town for Christmas and it was so nice to see them both and spend time together before adding a little addition to the Zweigart clan! Finally, I was looking through some old photos at Jan's house and came across this beauty of the O'Donnell girls and Zweigart girls playing dress up, I just had to share! Can you guess who everyone is? XOXO

Alisha: Hello family! Not much has changed for me. Same job, still sucks. Still with Josh and it's great! Im happy to hear i will be an aunt soon and can not wait to be!!!! Miss you all!!!
