Summer 2021

Steve, Nicole, & Ava
We have four weeks left until baby Hummel arrives. My mom and dad will be headed to VA to help with Ava. Ava moved into her new room recently and she loves sleeping in a big girl bed. We recently spent the week at the beach with Steve’s family and had a wonderful break before the chaos! Can’t wait for all these kiddos to meet one day.

Janet & Tim
Greetings from sunny Florida aka unending vacation land. We truly miss our family and friends in Ohio but we are having so much fun and enjoying plenty of time with the Kuhn family.

The Kuhn Family
Hello Summer!!

Michelle is working on her Reading Endorsement and will be certified as a reading coach in May.
Timmy, Tony, and Tina wanted to visit Legoland so we decided to switch up theme parks and have passes to Legoland. They love to build with legos!!

Matt & Raquel
Raquel and I have some exciting news to share. I think everyone, or mostly everyone, knows by now...but this didn't make it into the previous blog. We're moving to PERU! Raquel accepted an offer for basically her dream job as the "Early Years English/Math Coordinator" at an international school in Lima. It's exactly the job she has been looking for over the past couple of years, trying to get out of the childcare center and back into international education. I'm so proud of her and happy for her. Needless to say, our past couple of months have been busy and full of preparations for the transition. I won't go into all the details, but the short story is this...
  • We sold our house - thank God for this amazing buyers' market!
  • We're selling or donating like 90% of our possessions and I LOVE IT
  • We're leaving on July 18 (so soon!) to Chicago where we'll stay for a couple of days. Shadow has to catch his flight on the 19th from there as he can't fly on the same plane as us. We're so worried for him but the reunion when he arrives in Lima after us is going to be epic!
  • Our flight leaves on the 20th from Chicago, bright and early.
  • We'll arrive and stay in an Airbnb for 10 days while we decide if we like it enough to do a long-term rental with the owner or search for another apartment to rent.
  • Raquel starts work at her new school on Aug 2nd.
  • I'll be taking it easy while we settle in and get comfortable, spending quality time with Shadow and getting to know our surroundings. I'm not sure if I'm calling it a sabbatical or a retirement yet haha :-)
We're really looking forward to the year-round beautiful weather, getting to know a new city and culture, and learning (or re-learning for me) Spanish. I know we're quite a bit older now than we were in our previous stints abroad, which makes this move a bit more daunting, but it'll be nice to have some new adventure in our lives again (sorry Cleveland).
The ONLY downside is that we're going to miss out on the party in Cleveland when the Browns win the super bowl this year!

The Harrison Family
Summer is flying by for the Harrisons! We’ve been busy with baseball and softball for most of June but are now winding down. We were able to enjoy a few days “camping” (in a house 😁) at Mohican to help celebrate Jane’s 70th birthday. The 4th of July was fun…we watched fireworks 3 nights in a row. Finally, we can’t wait to take a week to relax in Sunset Beach, NC at the end of July. Summer, please slow down!!!

Jane & Mario
Summer has been off to a great start for Mario and Jane. Back to golfing twice a week, garden is beginning to bloom and enjoying some fun days with the grandkids. Jane celebrated her 70th birthday with a family get away for 3 days in Central Ohio. We had fun together swimming, hiking and just spending time together~best birthday present I could ask for, even got a family pic while there. Also had little Mario stay with us for 4 days and enjoyed him so much while he spent time with us and his cousins. Also did a quick girls get away in Columbus with Traci, Christie and Raquel enjoying each other’s company and catching up.

Kentucky Pavia's
Kentucky Pavia's are having a great start to summer break. Trips to lake Norris, Mohican state park, Myrtle beach and the boys also went to holiday world with parents and Mario had a special trip to Cleveland by himself. We finished up sports and travel so now we can enjoy some down time before school starts again in five weeks. Mikes job will hopefully allow him to start traveling soon which he is excited about. We are planning a trip to Cleveland for Labor Day weekend and hope to see as much of the family as possible. We miss you all and love you so very much!

The Reusts Update
We have been enjoying the warm summer and being outside a lot more. We had an awesome time with the entire family in May to Outerbanks (I can see now why Michelle loves it so much!). J.R. and Rose quickly became best friends!!!
Starting in June for 6 wks Penny and Rose are taking swim lessons together and love being in class with one another. Me, Judah and Rose are continuing to enjoy our fun weekly ritual of going to the library and are well past the 1,000 books by kindergarten standard! Elijah is busy with his real estate work picking up and the launch of his new resume writing company. I am hitting the slow months for work and looking forward to some days off this summer and swim time at our local pool with the kids.

The Gaus Family
Hello family!
Miss you all! We are just enjoying summer over here! Staying up late, Ic cream, swimming!! Penny and Rosie are taking a swim class together, Josh and I are preparing our house to sell by the end of summer! We also went on a family vacation that was nuts haha but so much fun!

Janice & Shiggy
It was quite the job after 32 years… but we have finally moved out of Pheasants Walk Dr. We are temporarily living in Sandusky until September when our new home is projected to be completed. It was definitely bitter sweet, but as my sister Jane says, the train is moving…Our current back yard view is outstanding!!!
We had our first, hopefully not our last, Zweigart family vacation in Nags Head, SC. I think a fun time was had by all…well at least by me!!!! Being together with my three daughters, my three fav son-in-laws and six grand babies was PURE heaven. Lots of sand, sun and diaper changing!!!
Love to all famiglia, ❤️
Janice & Shiggy

The DeMaster Family
Sending love and hoping your morning coffee is as strong as ever!

Joe & Corrine
In the second quarter we celebrated Connor’s 4th birthday and Gigi’s 2nd birthday via Zoom. Unfortunately we could not be there in-person, perhaps next year. As you can imagine, they had a great time. Connor likes to open presents so he was very willing to help Gigi with her presents. He does a good job of teaching her how to tear the paper off the package.
We left Phoenix on May 29th and spent 3 days visiting Adams and Evelyn in LA before going to Rosarito Beach, Mexico where we are spending the summer. Rosarito is about 100 miles south of Laguna, CA so it is almost like being back home (same weather anyway).
Adams and Evelyn visited us for the 4th. We spent time looking for the best taco’s in town, did some shopping and dinners. We went wine tasting with them in Guadalupe Valley and spent the night there.
As a result of our summer move, we are having a great time and the weather is perfect. See pics.
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer, outdoors, picnics and baseball!
Joe & Corrine

The Bohlen Family
The Bohlens have been spending as much time outdoors as possible after a long, isolated winter! We spent a week on the Olympic Peninsula in Western Washington (in Forks for any Twilight fans out there) and did a lot of hiking in the national park. Little Miss Sassy was doing two mile hikes with hills because she screamed anytime you tried to put her in the backpack. Jacque worked on her cake decorating skills for Connor's and Gigi's birthdays, and she spent a weekend in San Francisco in early June with her best friend, Melissa, marking her first time without kids since February 2020 (and ending our longest time apart since we met in 1997!)! Connor started school for a month in June/July, and then he'll be on break until the Fall. Gigi is enjoying the extra 1x1 time with Daddy :) We hope everyone is well - sending you all so much love!

Adams & Evelyn
It’s been a good start to summer here for Evelyn and I. Trying to get ahead of fire season and the heat so we got some camping in up in big bear, and got to head down to Mexico to visit our parents in Mexico! Evelyn just started a new job and has to commute twice per week, but works from home most days and it’s such a better company and startup! She’s really happy! A new brewery just opened up close to our house so I (adams) have all my needs met now :). Love you all!
